For our next meeting, the book selected is “The Great Acceleration: how the world is getting faster, faster”, by Robert Colvile who will join us to discuss his book.
Robert Colvile is a journalist and communicator, who writes for the Economist, Telegraph, Sunday Times, etc., and appeared recently at the Hay Festival, OECD Forum, Paris and the York Festival of Ideas. His book “ The Great Acceleration: how the world is getting faster, faster”, received rave reviews. It deals with the impact of technology on our lives, as well as helping us to understand the worst consequences of change and how to embrace its best effects. The book asks the question, ‘Are we becoming the slaves or are we masters of the great acceleration’?
To find out more, please come along to our next event on Wednesday 20 July, and meet Robert for a lively discussion on human nature and its response to technology.
